After ubuntu9.10 is out you will be then time to upgrade your ubuntu9.04 jaunty jackalope to the new Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, the upgrade is easy just you have to follow a few steps and olee upgrade is done. upgrade will take sometime depending of your internet connexion and how fast is your computer so just be patient and wait untill the upgrade finish then you can restart your computer. After upgrading perhaps you will need to add things to your new system, see these articles about costumizing ubuntu karmic koala :
Follow the steps as are described on the screenshots bellow :
First type Alt+F2 a screen will open, type the command update-manager -d as described bellow :

Release note , this must be changed :
Third party software will be disabled, you can enable them after upgrade is finished. Click close to continue

Restart your computer now :

After installation is finished restart your computer and voila the new Ubuntu9.10 karmic koala :

In general the steps to follow are the same to upgrade from 9.04 to for the final release. so i m not providing any wrong informations

I really don't know if you have already on your site but it would be great if you provide a tutorial in which to explain in more detail the update from one version to an other.
For example if the old programs will be deleted, what is the risk of the upgrade, I will loose my preferences, setups, etc?
Just an idea!
