    Hello!
I really don't know if you have already on your site but it would be great if you provide a tutorial in which to explain in more detail the update from one version to an other.
For example if the old programs will be deleted, what is the risk of the upgrade, I will loose my preferences, setups, etc?
    Just an idea!
    Have a nice day!

make a backuo if you have sensible data on the root partition . i think the upgrade will update your packages and will write new conf files on the old conf files like (samba.conf apache.conf ftp.conf ... etc )
about your display no thing will be changed

In a graphical tutorial like this, I think it makes more sense to make people open the Update Manager with System->Admin->Update Manager.
