Pinta is a drawing/editing program modeled after Paint.NET. It’s goal is to provide a simplified alternative to GIMP for casual users. It is getting to be quite mature and is currently focused on polishing for a 1.0 release
to install Pinta 0.6 in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick and 10.04 Lucid download and install deb file from the bellow links
For Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick

For Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid

In alternativ you can ionstall Pinta 0.6 from PPA source for Lucid and Maverick. please foloow the steps bellow .
For Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/maverick
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pinta
For Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/linuxfreedomlucid
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pinta
