Few days after the stable release of Ubuntu Touch 1.0, the development of the new canonical mobile operating system focuses on the next release, 14.04 Trusty Tahr.
Canonical developers have announced the release of Ubuntu Touch 14.04 Trusty Tahr’s Daily Build in one of the mailing lists.

“Trusty image 3 (20131022.1) is now available via the trusty channel. We don’t currently support OTA updates from saucy to trusty, so you’ll
need to update via a cable, for example like this:
phablet-flash ubuntu-system --channel trusty
Once you switch channel to trusty you can then use OTA updates as you previously did on saucy though.”, Alan Pope writes in the mailing list. Alan also mentions that there is also a bug which will ‘eat’ all apps which you previously had installed. It means that you will lose applications and you will need to reinstall them, but the good news is that your data in /home/phablet is safe.
Ubuntu Touch 14.04 Trusty Tahr (which is still in the development phase) is available for Nexus 4 smartphone same as Ubuntu Touch 1.0. People who own a Nexus tablet 7 or 10 will be able to find ind the new version even in some third-party image for other models Android smartphones and tablets.
The bad news is that there is now way to update the mobile operating system or Ubuntu 4.14 Touch Trusty Tahr via via OTA or through the update manager at the moment, but where is a shell there is always a way. If you want to update your mobile operating system, you can do it from the Ubuntu machine terminal after you have connected your mobile device to Ubuntu via USB cable.
Open the terminal and type the following instruction:
phablet-flash ubuntu-system --channel trusty
After typing this command, the download will start and the updates will take place.
