Five Percent Of Android Devices Run Android 4.4 KitKat
Google has published its latest report on number of devices that share a certain characteristic, such as Android version or screen size, data which is collected through the new Google Play Store app during a 7-day period ending on April 1, 2014.
Jelly Bean tops the list with more than 60 percent distribution, followed by Gingerbread with 17.8 percent of all the distribution.
Android KitKat is performing very well, it is continuously growing its distribution, this time it counts 5.3 percent which is twice more than a month ago.
Except KitKat, all android operating systems included in this report have seen a tiny drop. Unfortunately, devices running older versions than Android 2.2 are not included in this report, because the data is gathered from the new Google Play Store app, which supports Android 2.2 and above.
I am sure knowing what is going on with the distribution of the different android flavors will help developers to find their potential user-base.
